Paramount Resort the biggest and the best

In 2011, after months of speculation, it was finally confirmed that Paramount Pictures had chosen the region of Murcia for the construction of Spain’s largest and most prestigious theme park. Basking in some of the best and most reliable weather in the world, the development will present Disneyland Paris with a direct challenge for supremacy as Europe’s number one holiday destination.

Paramount Resort is due for completion in 2015 and will see the creation of film studios, casinos, a water park and a wealth of other attractions including bars, clubs, restaurants and shopping arcades. Located 15 minutes from the coast and just 20 minutes from the new international airport at Corvera, it will feature a series of zones corresponding to popular feature films such as Mission Impossible, Tomb Raider and War of the Worlds. The park will be divided into four main areas, as outlined on the following pages:

Plaza Futura

Plaza Future will immerse visitors in an extravaganza of science, action and adventure in outer space. The key attraction will be “Star Trek” – a total immersion experience combining motion simulation and highly advanced technology to give visitors an encounter of the most unforgettable kind. Among other attractions in Plaza Futura will be a 4D spectacular feature in which you will experience alien attack when you join “‘The War of the Worlds.” If you like a little fear in your day you can enjoy “Paranormal Activity”, gripped by 3D audio and sound effects where spooks will walk in the room and give you the feeling that the spirits are quite literally flying by.

City Adventure

The park will include an area called “Adventure City”, where Paramount’s most explosive films will become dynamic attractions. Mission Impossible 4D, for example, will introduce visitors to a mixture of 3D movies and high tech effects. Visitors will ride fast cars in a totally virtual world. In addition, there will be a roller coaster called “The Italian Job”, which will be a big attraction. Here, you’ll race through scenes filled with incredible special effects. Adventure City will also feature the attraction “Titanic Exposed”, where you can re-enact the unforgettable story of the Titanic through artefacts, displays and special effects.
